Andreas Payne
Account Manager
Andreas brings extensive experience in planning, placemaking and local government to his role in the South & East team. Alongside his professional work, he served as a Councillor in the Borough of Broxbourne for eight years, including roles as Cabinet Member for Finance, Cabinet Member for Planning and Placemaking, and Chair of the Planning Committee.
Through these roles, Andreas has been directly involved in shaping and scrutinising major development proposals and local plan policy. His experience spans a wide range of schemes, including strategic site allocations, a new garden village, film and television studios, and large-scale infrastructure such as data centres. He has also worked at a cross-authority level as a member of the Brookfield Joint Member Board.
Before joining Meeting Place, Andreas worked in Parliament, including for a former Chancellor of the Exchequer and as Chief of Staff to the Member of Parliament for Broxbourne, giving him a strong understanding of political decision-making and stakeholder management at the highest levels.
At Meeting Place, Andreas leads on complex engagement programmes across residential, energy and infrastructure projects. He advises clients on navigating the planning system, political risk and community engagement, drawing on his first-hand experience of decision-making within local authorities.
Outside of work, Andreas is Director of a company that helps secondary schools establish and run Model United Nations conferences. His personal interests include cooking and wine collecting, and he is a regular dinner party host for friends and family.
