Who we’re looking for

Meeting Place has an exciting opportunity for an experienced communicator who wants to make a difference.

There’s consensus that our country needs more homes, new space for businesses and better infrastructure. We’re looking for someone to join us to be part of the solution.

We exist to ensure the built environment is a catalyst for positive change. We help clients innovatively engage communities, politicians and others to ensure their plans are right and bring them to fruition.

We are looking for a motivated and commercially focused person who has a background in public affairs, politics, communications and/or community engagement and a keen interest in the built environment and property sector. We are particularly interested to hear from you if you have a sound political knowledge in the South West.

A little bit about Meeting Place

Meeting Place exists to ensure the built environment is a catalyst for positive change. We provide consultancy and communications services – including public relations, political engagement, community consultation, social value and campaign support for new and exciting developments across the country.

Our clients range from house builders to renewable energy, retail, commercial and infrastructure – varied and exciting projects that mean no two days are ever the same.

In the South West we support some of the region’s most significant projects including Legal & General’s Temple Island in Bristol, solar farms in Gloucestershire, supermarkets in Poole and new communities in Devon.

Activities would include:

• Independently directing projects to ensure the best quality work is delivered for clients in a way which is innovative, timely and responsive to the project.
• Taking ownership and responsibility for business development in collaboration with the team and wider business.
• Managing team members and supporting their growth and development.
• Thinking strategically and taking a creative approach to complex challenges and opportunities.
• Developing a comprehensive understanding of the community and political contexts our clients operate in and using this to provide first class counsel to clients.
• Managing project finances to ensure value is delivered for clients and business.
• Playing an active role in the company culture, working closely with the wider business and accurately reporting to the senior management team.

The skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Excellent leadership and management.
• Track record of business development.
• Commercial awareness and creative thinking.
• Good built environment industry knowledge.
• Innovative community/stakeholder engagement and/or approaches to social value.
• Good project management skills with strong organisational and planning skills.
• Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills.
