Socius Impact Showcase, London

Socius

Scheme

As a long-standing client, Meeting Place supported Socius to bring together partners, collaborators and charities for its third annual ‘Socius Impact Showcase’. The event explored how social impact can remain a high priority in a challenging market and focused on moving beyond discussions, encouraging attendees to make practical commitments to charities that could lead to measurable impact.

Meeting Place was appointed to support the delivery and the arrangement of the event to ensure it could create as much positive impact as possible.

Strategy

Meeting Place led on the operational delivery of the showcase, supporting the event planning from concept through to delivery. This included sourcing a sustainable B Corp venue and supplier recommendations, supporting the development of the agenda and designing and managing the event communications.

On the day, Meeting Place supported the delivery of the event by overseeing logistics, liaising with suppliers and providing on-site technical support. The team also appointed an experienced photographer and a sixth-form student, who gained valuable paid work experience on the night. In addition, the team appointed and managed a videographer, providing a brief in advance, coordinating interviews during the event and overseeing post-production edits.

A key element of the event was spotlighting charities and encouraging guests to pledge support to them. Meeting Place led on the charity outreach, working closely with LandAid, Plunkett UK and Teach First in the run-up to the event to ensure their contributions were integrated into the wider agenda. The team also developed a digital pledging platform, allowing guests to make solid commitments on the night and track engagement in real time.

Outcome

Positioning Socius as a leader in the space, the collaborative event sparked meaningful connections between attendees from across private, public and third sectors. This resulted in over one hundred pledges to the charity partners across a range of commitments, such as IT equipment donations, discounted rent for young people who have experienced homelessness, the provision of pro bono services and free use of event space.

We’re the Meeting Place of deep knowledge and creative thinking. And we want to hear from you.
