The role

Meeting Place has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic AE/SAE to perform an important role in the PR team, ensuring the delivery of compelling content, successful media relations and project administration for a range of client accounts.

The role will include: 

Project work: 

  • Producing a range of compelling content including press releases, news stories, articles, thought leadership and case studies to a good standard
  • Pitching features and issuing press releases to national, trade and regional media
  • Brainstorming fresh ideas for PR campaigns
  • Providing administration and reporting support to the account teams
  • Monitoring media coverage
  • Attending client events and industry conferences
  • Developing content and overseeing clients’ social media accounts
  • Becoming a trustworthy point of contact for numerous clients 

New business development: 

  • Researching and identifying potential new business opportunities 
  • Working with the Business Development and PR teams to pursue opportunities
  • Establishing and boosting your own LinkedIn brand 

Marketing:

  • Proactively drafting blogs and social media content for Meeting Place’s channels
  • Supporting BD team in delivery of marketing output 

Who we’re looking for

  • Capable and confident – with an in depth understanding of the media tools within their ‘PR toolkit’.
  • Organised – comfortable with following direction and operating with autonomy.
  • Experience – of working in a PR agency, press office or fast-paced media environment is preferred, together with experience creating press content and the ability to demonstrate coverage examples.  
  • Strong writing skills – excellent written and spoken English. A relevant undergraduate degree such as PR, journalism or English Literature is desirable but not essential.
  • Approachable, friendly and empathetic – able to relate to colleagues within the agency, as well as with clients and the media.
  • Efficient – able to meet tight media deadlines as well as the demands and pressures of your team and clients, without compromising on quality.
  • Commercially aware – with an understanding of why over-servicing can lead to accounts becoming unprofitable.
  • Teamwork – managing your own workload effectively, having a proactive attitude with other team members and offering to help carry out extra tasks when workloads increase. ‘Upward managing’ Account Managers and other members of the team when required.
