Business Development & Marketing Manager

Who we’re looking for

Meeting Place has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development & Marketing Manager who will be responsible for executing plans designed to increase existing business and capture new opportunities.

This role will have a national remit and will support the business with initiatives aimed at delivering growth.

A little bit about Meeting Place

Meeting Place exists to ensure the built environment is used a catalyst for positive change. We provide consultancy and communications services – including public relations, political engagement, community consultation, social value and campaign support for new and exciting developments across the country.

Our clients range from house builders to renewable energy, retail, commercial and infrastructure developers.

Activities would include:

  • Coordinating external business development activity including proposals, presentations and pitches.
  • Maintaining and updating the sales pipeline.
  • Identifying relevant industry events and ensuring attendance from appropriate members of staff with all associated administration.
  • Supporting annual programme of events and webinars with all associated administration.
  • Supporting the operation of Meeting Place’s Development Board workstream.
  • Working with Managing Director, Directors and members of the PR team to generate marketing campaign ideas.
  • Custodian of all external facing marketing platforms including website, campaign monitor and social media.
  • Monitoring our social media presence and ensuring the teams are providing content.
  • Ensuring the teams provide coverage of all industry and nationally significant events.
  • Seeking opportunities for thought-leadership and overseeing efforts for media coverage.
  • Identifying and agreeing upon appropriate award submissions – advising on content, attendance and all other aspects.
  • Ongoing management and oversight of the marketing WiP.
  • Support to Managing Director with respect to administration efforts for BD and Marketing activities. To include speech writing, speaker liaison, logistics et al.

The skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Five+ years’ experience in business development and marketing roles.
• A wealth of common sense and initiative.
• Events management experience essential.
• The ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Housing, planning or development background (desirable)
